V.I.E. Contract - Experienced COBOL Developer

Your Role

As an Experienced COBOL Developer, your responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing requirements and contributing to the clarification of user stories and acceptance criteria with the team.
• Designing and developing enhancements for COBOL applications (batch and online/transactional) in a mainframe environment.
• Applying quality standards (readability, performance, security) and documenting implemented changes.
• Contributing to unit and integration testing and participating in code reviews.
• Preparing and supporting production releases, ensuring proper system behavior post‑deployment.
• Participating in incident analysis and resolution to improve system stability and performance.

Your Profile

• You hold a degree in computer science (or equivalent) and have at least 1 year of experience in mainframe development.
• You have strong skills in COBOL, JCL, and SQL, and are comfortable with mainframe environments and tools.
• You enjoy working in demanding contexts (quality, performance, availability) and demonstrate a rigorous approach.
• You are comfortable working in an Agile and multicultural environment and communicate clearly.
• You have strong analytical skills, a service‑oriented mindset, and a willingness to share best practices with the team.

Technical

• Environment: IBM Mainframe, TSO/ISPF, IMS, CICS, Topaz Workbench, z/OS Connect
• Languages: COBOL, JCL, SQL
• Databases: DB2, IMS DB
• Tools: CA Platinum, Abend‑Aid, OPC (TWS), Endevor, SDSF / Beta 92, File‑Aid
• AI skills are a plus

Methodologies

• Agile Scrum / Kanban / SAFe: PI Planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint review, retrospectives, 3 Amigos workshops, pair testing
• Quality culture: quality gates, standards, security
