FME Developer

Your Role

• Design, configure, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows using FME Desktop/Workbench and FME Server for large-scale datasets.
• Integrate data from diverse sources (e.g., ArcGIS, PostGIS, Oracle, APIs, CSV, Excel) into standardized enterprise schemas.
• Perform data migration, transformation, automation, and validation tasks, ensuring data quality, lineage, and documentation.
• Manage complex spatial data concepts including coordinate transformations, geometry checks, topology validations, and schema mapping.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including GIS Analysts and data engineers, to analyse requirements and troubleshoot data-related challenges.
• Develop parameterized and reusable FME templates and, where applicable, use Python within FME for customized logic and automation.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in FME scripting and data governance.

Your Profile

• FME Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with FME Desktop (Workbench) and FME Server/Flow.
• GIS Knowledge: Proficiency with the Esri ArcGIS suite (ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise) and a solid understanding of spatial data concepts. Experience with specific data models, such as the ArcGIS Utility Network, is often desired.
• Proficiency in Python (ArcPy, pandas, etc.) for automation and custom scripting.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with any enterprise spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, MS SQL Server).
• Data Formats: Experience handling various data formats including Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, GDB/FGDB, DWG/DXF, CSV, XML/JSON.
• Safe Software FME Certified Professional certification.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices such as Terraform or GitHub Actions.
