Trade Deduction Analyst (Canada Market)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Trade Deduction Analyst to support the end-to-end management of customer trade deductions within the Order-to-Cash (OTC) process. This role is responsible for investigating, validating, approving, and resolving customer claims and deductions while ensuring compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, and the ability to manage high volumes of transactional activities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyze customer trade deductions and claims.
  • Validate deductions using supporting documentation, customer agreements, shipment records, and financial data.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations and identify valid versus invalid claims.
  • Process approved deductions and ensure accurate account clearing.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for audit purposes.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Customer Service, Logistics, and other stakeholders to resolve complex deduction issues.
  • Manage recovery activities for invalid deductions and monitor resolution progress.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, recurring issues, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with established controls, policies, and financial governance requirements.
  • Support month-end activities, reporting requirements, and account reconciliations.
  • Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to manage deduction workflows and maintain accurate records.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Order-to-Cash, Trade Deductions, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Revenue Management, or a related finance function.
  • Experience working in high-volume transaction environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial reconciliation and data validation processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting consumer goods (FMCG/CPG), retail, manufacturing, or distribution industries.
  • Knowledge of Trade Promotion Management tools.
  • Experience handling customer deductions, claims management, or promotional funding activities.
  • Exposure to audit controls, compliance requirements, and internal governance frameworks.
