Senior Business Lawyer
Job Description
This role supports Capgemini’s Legal Department by contributing to contract review, drafting, negotiation, and contract formation activities with customers, suppliers, and other business partners, in accordance with company policies and applicable legal requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, while providing legal and contractual support to business teams.

- Letters of Engagement/Intent
- Proposal Reviews
- Vendor Agreements
- Review and evaluate terms and conditions in customer requests for proposal (“RFPs”) and assist business teams in preparing responses on legal and contractual matters.
- Collaborate with business teams and management to identify contractual and commercial concerns in RFPs and customer and supplier contracts, and propose appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Engage with attorneys in various regions to support negotiations with Capgemini’s clients and vendors across North America.
- Assess contract terms and conditions and propose alternative approaches, including revised contractual language, to address identified concerns.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of department-wide tools and materials, including standard form agreements and contract templates.
Key Requirenments
Candidates should have 4-7 years of prior legal support experience. Prior in-house experience in the IT sector, including exposure to data privacy, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence matters, is preferred.
- Experience with commercial contracts, particularly IT contracts.
- Solid knowledge of, and experience with, the full contract negotiation and management life cycle.
- Ability to engage on and help resolve routine and unique contracting matters.
- Ability to treat sensitive/confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Ability to understand complex financial and business concepts and suggest viable alternatives during negotiation.
