Design and Release Engineer - Transfer Case (Remote in México)

YOUR ROLE

The DRE is responsible for the release activities of driveline components associated with the commodity such as Transfer Case assemblies, Vent assemblies and Fasteners as well as the support of ongoing production and related activities such as Service operations and Quality Improvement. Launch activity support is also required for the development, validation, and production implementation of future model year programs.
The DRE is expected to lead activities and to report directly to senior management, ensuring constant and efficient communication with suppliers and manufacturing facilities as well as diverse teams in the engineering offices.
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor Degree in Automotive, Mechanical or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- 4+ years of experience in the automotive industry and previous experience in Design & Release Engineer roles.
- Experience working with Transfer Case or with any of the following Axles, Propshafts/halfshafts, PTUs, RDMs
- Ability to write executive summaries and presentations to senior management.
- Fluent ability to work with CAD and PLM software (Preferably NX/Teamcenter). The DRE will have to conduct clearance analysis, production tree definition, digital assembly try-outs, section view generation as well as VisBOM creation.
- Full knowledge of the DFMEA/PFMEA, DRBFM methodologies
- Full Knowledge of core tools, as the DRE will have to support APQP/PPAP activities.
- Tolerance Stack Up Analysis (VSA) knowledge.
- Experience supervising completion of DVP&Rs as well as hardware testing (DV/PV).
- Solid understanding of material science. The DRE will have to support decision making related to material issues.
- Solid Knowledge of Driveline Engineering (From general concepts to vehicle integration and how systems work)
- Quality tools knowledge such as: 8Ds, 3L5Y, Reactive Problem Solving, Shainin Red X methodology is a must.
- Experience working with warranty metrics and creation and support of warranty KPIs such as C/1000 or KPPMs. Candidates must be able to conduct warranty trend analysis and work with Paynter charts and/or other types of metric reporting methods.
