Design and Release Engineer - Propulsion Systems (Hybrid in CDMX)

Your role

As a Design & Release Engineer for Propulsion Systems at Capgemini Engineering, you will be part of a dynamic team working on automotive propulsion system components. In this junior to mid-level role, you will develop your expertise while contributing to important engineering projects.

In this role you will play a key role in:

  • Supporting the design, specification, testing, and validation of propulsion system components for assigned vehicle families
  • Assisting with documentation for component changes, including specifications and engineering changes
  • Participating in the development and execution of validation plans (DVP&R) to ensure components meet functional requirements
  • Analyzing component failures and contributing to problem-solving processes under guidance from senior team members
  • Learning to utilize 2D and 3D design software (NX) to create and modify component designs for internal combustion engines, electric motors, and structural components
  • Supporting cost reduction initiatives while maintaining component performance standards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers on part development according to established processes

 

Your profile

  • Good conversational English (B2, C1, C2)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electro-mechanical, or related field)
  • 1-3 years of experience (Junior/Mid level) in the automotive industry or related engineering field, with exposure to product development processes
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, particularly internal combustion engines and vibration/shock absorption components such as rubber-metal brackets used in cooling systems or body structures
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design software, preferably NX and/or CATIA
  • Basic understanding of testing and validation methodologies in an engineering environment
  • Good analytical skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise in automotive engineering and propulsion systems
