Design and Release Engineer (Propulsion Systems)

YOUR ROLE

• Design, specify, test, validate and release Propulsion Systems components for assigned vehicle families; analyze and solve part-related failures; propose, validate, and obtain cost reductions on these parts.
• Process documentation on changes or modifications to components from assigned vehicle families (Change Notices).
• Review component changes (specifications, production location, tooling refurbishment, TIER 2 suppliers, etc.) from suppliers, process documentation and authorize required testing (DVP&R) on these changes.
• Approve or reject documents for Temporary Substitution on components in Assembly Plant.
• Request prototype part manufacturing to solve warranty issues.
• Obtainment of product changes information, implementation dates, service and/or recall technical bulletins, Product Engineering standards, bill of material and Engineering graphs.
• Creation and approval of Tool Kick Off (TKO) request for parts on assigned vehicle families.
• Coordinate DFMEAs and PFMEAs with suppliers.
• Support Pilot and Pre-series events in Assembly Plants.
• Design parts in NX Software (2D & 3D).

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electro-mechanical, etc.).
• Previous experience: Preferable 1-2 years in automotive industry as Product Engineer or product development-related position.
• Internal Combustion Engine/Electric Motor/Power Electronics accessories’ components/structural components such as brackets.
• Solid knowledge in automotive vehicles and systems, assembly and manufacturing, part validation and automotive systems.
• Knowledge in Internal Combustion Engines, thermodynamics and statistics; testing, validation and failure solving in Automotive Industry or similar.
• Good skills to communicate and present ideas, as well as experience in basic software suits (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Minitab, etc.)
• Computer-design software skill in NX and/or CATIA.
• Proactive, analytical, inquiring attitude; synthesis capability, team player.
• Please note this is a hybrid position in CDMX.
• Advanced English is mandatory.
