Your Role
As part of the huge growth in demand in our Energy Transition & Utilities practice, we are seeking to recruit Senior Consultants / Consultants to join our highly talented team, working on the pursuit and delivery of major advisory, consulting, and digital transformation services within the Oil & Gas industry.
Our Oil & Gas industry clients include integrated energy companies; upstream, midstream, and downstream sector focused companies; national oil companies; as well as industry equipment and service provider companies.
Leveraging our industry experience, strong strategic and business improvement skillset and deep understanding of technology, as well as Capgemini’s wider IT, application management and engineering capabilities, we deliver leading edge consulting services and solutions for our clients, ranging from Net Zero & Sustainability; Digital Strategy & Transformation; Operations Optimisation; IoT, Analytics & Asset Management; Retail & e-Mobility Transformation; Technology Transformation & Modernisation; and New Business IT Operationalisation.
As a Senior Consultant / Consultant in the business, you will help our clients design, develop and implement business, technology and digital solutions across the value chain, across a variety of business directorates and functions. You will form part of an experienced and flexible project delivery team who have real life industry transformation experience, helping clients to transform business processes, operations and behaviours to deliver benefits and business value from improved sustainability, capital and operations efficiency, and enhanced customer experience.
Your role may include the following activities (either leading or as part of a team):
- Business performance analysis, considering industry dynamics, trends and change drivers; business positioning and performance; and business strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats.
- Business operating model analysis, covering dimensions such as organisation design; business processes and procedures; roles and responsibilities; enabling systems, technology and data; and behaviours / ways of working.
- Identification of business improvement opportunities and solutions, based on sound understanding of business challenges and operational issues.
- Business improvement solution design including definition of operating model requirements for change (organization, process, technology, ways of working)
- Assessment of the impact of change and identification of business transition and implementation needs.
- Development of the business case for change, outlining the value, costs, impact and risks from identified improvement / transformation opportunities.
- Representation of business requirements to IT and solution development teams (internal and external suppliers) ensuring requirements are understood.
- Definition of business and end-user solution testing and acceptance criteria. Provision of support to the business in running user acceptance testing, co-ordinating with IT development teams to ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations.
- Provision of input into solution deployment, business transition & training delivery planning. Development of business / technology solution and change training materials, engaging with project and business stakeholders.
- Provision of PMO and program management support – governance, progress reporting, delivery issues, risks and dependencies.
- Workshop facilitation support including development of workshop materials and capture of workshop notes and outputs.
- Client stakeholder assessment, engagement and relationship management.
Your Profile
We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years’ consulting (or combination of industry & consulting) experience, with a track record of problem solving and delivering value, and who enjoy working collaboratively with clients and in project teams.
We would love to meet someone with:
- Sector Understanding - experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with an understanding of the Oil & Gas value chain and how it needs to change to meet the challenges of the energy transition.
- Experience in one or several of the following areas – Net Zero and sustainability; capital projects; production operations; asset management; retail and customer management; digital technology, analytics and AI.
- Adaptability and Learning Mindset - Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and industry developments.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills - Ability to articulate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency in report writing, presenting findings, and making data-driven recommendations.
