SAP Functional Architect (S/4 Hana Transformation)

Your role

As an SAP Functional Architect, you will lead the functional design of S/4HANA transformation projects and translate business needs into modern, scalable SAP solutions. You will work with the latest SAP technologies and support global clients on complex digital initiatives. In this role, you will drive key workshops, influence solution roadmaps, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. You will also mentor consultants across modules and contribute to building strong architectural standards within our SAP community. 

Your project

Join the GDC (Global Delivery Center) and become a part of the PBS (Package Based Services) department, a team of over 300 SAP specialists. We combine deep technological expertise with strategic business consulting, delivering innovative solutions to global enterprises, including Fortune 500 companies. Working across diverse industries, we support our clients in achieving their business transformation goals. 

Your tasks

  • Lead the functional design and architecture of S/4HANA transformation projects across all core modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, etc.). 
  • Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP solutions. 
  • Define project scope, process flows, and system configurations in alignment with SAP best practices. 
  • Support pre-sales activities, including solutioning, effort estimation, and proposal development. 
  • Conduct workshops and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring alignment on functional and technical aspects. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance throughout the transformation lifecycle. 
  • Mentor and guide functional consultants across modules to ensure quality delivery and knowledge growth. 

Your profile

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP implementations, with deep functional expertise (various modules). 
  • Proven experience in leading S/4HANA transformation projects from blueprint to go-live. 
  • Strong understanding of E2E business processes and their mapping in SAP. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (additionally, knowledge of German is a strong plus). 
  • Ability to work in complex, global environments with multiple stakeholders. 

Nice to have

  • Experience with industry-specific SAP solutions (e.g., Retail, Manufacturing, Utilities). 
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and agile delivery models. 
  • German language proficiency.
