Technical leader (Internal Combustion Engines)

Your role

We are now looking for a senior mechanical engineer with strong expertise in the area of combustion engine development to act as a technical leader and system architect. You will be part of a client engagement representing Capgemini as the technical expert, managing a team of developers in different areas connected to internal combustion engines. This is including but not limited to Engine after-treatment systems, thermal management, Performance, Air & Gas and Combustion.

In this role your will play a key role in:

  • Lead and coordinate development activities and delegate work tasks to the team managed. Project phases can vary from concept to series production.
  • Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet set requirements and deadlines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and collaborate with other R&D departments.
  • Oversee technical documentation and verify requirement fulfillment.
  • Guide and build efficient teams, prioritizing tasks and fostering collaboration.

Your profile

  • Min Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in combustion engine development for industrial, marine or automotive applications.
  • Strong knowledge in Engine After-Treatment Systems (EATS), Thermal management and CAE analysis used within these domains.
  • General knowledge within Engine Performance, Fuel injection equipment, Air & Gas, Combustion and/or PCU is also needed.
  • Ability to develop end-to-end functional specifications and requirements on system level.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (e.g. Creo) and PLM systems (e.g., PDMlink, KOLA).
