Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Product Development
Are you ready to shape the future of industrial solutions? Capgemini Engineering is now looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers for our Industrial Product Development team in Gothenburg.
You should have experience in developing complex plastic, steel, or cast components, focusing on the entire development cycle from early concepts to production introduction. Your ability to solve problems with energy and creativity, combined with a genuine interest in technology, will be key in building long-lasting relationships with our world-leading industrial manufacturers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the complete design and development process for complex components, parts, and subsystems - from concept to final product, managing time, technology and cost.
- Ensure project deliveries according to established areas of responsibility, including conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new design concepts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, R&D departments, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of components into larger systems.
- Create and manage technical documentation, including 2D and 3D CAD documents, design verification plans, and product requirements.
- Compile, test and verify product requirements - ensuring all component requirements are met and documented.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness and performance while staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the engineering team.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or related field.
- Experience in developing complex plastic, steel, rubber or cast parts.
- Proficiency in CAD (such as CATIA V5 and/or Creo) and PDM/PLM systems (such as SmarTeam, Teamcenter or Windchill).
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Swedish language skills are meritorious.
- Strong skills in creating 3D and 2D documentation with appropriate tolerancing, considering manufacturability, costs, and requirements.
- Experience working in all project phases from concept to serial production.
- Knowledge of basic CAE calculations and tolerance analysis.
- Ability to work both independently and in teams, in a challenging and innovative environment where complex requirements test your capabilities.

- Proactive and positive attitude with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Enthusiasm for technical development, ability to inspire others in the team, and willingness to take on new challenges.
