The Opportunity

As a Business Intelligence developer within Group IT, you will own the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise analytics on the Looker platform. Your work will ensure consistent, trusted, and scalable insights that support decision making across the organization.
You will operate at the intersection of business and technology, shaping the semantic layer, defining governed KPIs, and delivering high quality dashboards on a modern Google Cloud–based data platform.

Your Role

In this role, you will take end to end ownership of Looker (BI) development, from semantic modeling through to business ready dashboards. You will act as a key partner to data engineering and business teams, ensuring analytics solutions are accurate, performant, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.

Your key responsibilities include:
•    Owning the design and maintenance of governed LookML models, including views, explores, joins, and reusable semantic components
•    Defining and implementing scalable semantic layers aligned with business KPIs, metrics definitions, and governance standards
•    Building high quality, intuitive dashboards with interactive features such as filters, drill paths, and conditional logic
•    Optimizing Looker explores, dashboards, and underlying BigQuery queries for performance, usability, and cost efficiency
•    Ensuring analytical accuracy through data validation, reconciliation, and regression testing
•    Implementing and managing role based access control using Looker permissions, model sets, and user attributes
•    Establishing and enforcing Looker standards for naming conventions, folder structures, documentation, and semantic consistency
•    Collaborating closely with data engineers, analytics engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust analytical solutions

Your Profile

•    4+ years of experience as a Looker Developer or in a BI / analytics development role
•    Strong hands on expertise with LookML modeling, dashboard development, and analytics governance concepts
•    Proven proficiency in BigQuery SQL and experience working with large scale datasets on Google Cloud Platform
•    Solid understanding of dimensional data modeling, semantic layers, and BI best practices
•    Experience working with Git based version control; exposure to Looker APIs, automation (Python), or embedded analytics is a strong plus
