YOUR ROLE
We are looking for a Programme Manager to take full ownership of coordinating all activities required to prepare for and implement the SAP S/4HANA upgrade. You will work within a structured PMO framework, engaging closely with business leaders, technical teams, and external partners. The role demands strong governance, proactive risk management, and disciplined control of scope, timelines, and dependencies across multiple streams of work.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Lead organisational preparation for the SAP S/4HANA upgrade, including process readiness, data work, functional engagement, integration planning, and business change.
- Coordinate activities across business units, ICT teams, vendors, and programme stakeholders to maintain alignment and avoid delays.
- Develop and maintain a clear programme roadmap spanning initiation, planning, delivery, cutover, and early stabilisation.
- Apply robust governance practices, producing timely reports, dashboards, and escalations for senior leaders and steering groups.
- Manage programme-level risks, issues, dependencies, and resource planning, ensuring blockers are resolved before impacting timelines.
- Oversee financial tracking, including budgets, forecasts, and commercial activity.
- Ensure SAP-related workstreams meet business requirements and integration points are understood.
- Coordinate process mapping, data cleansing, validation, and migration readiness.
- Manage vendors, system integrators, and specialist partners to ensure scope, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
- Support business readiness through training planning, communications, user adoption, and transition to steady-state operations.
- Facilitate governance forums and contribute to strengthening PMO standards and practices.
YOUR PROFILE
- 10+ years delivering complex programmes or large-scale projects, with significant experience in senior programme or portfolio management roles.
- Proven experience with SAP S4 implementation or upgrade required.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and external vendors across multiple workstreams, within SAP transformations or upgrades.
- Strong understanding of SAP delivery approaches (e.g., SAP Activate) and experience in structured or hybrid project environments.
- Expertise in readiness for major system change, including process mapping, data preparation, integration planning, and cutover activity.
- Solid knowledge of governance, assurance, stakeholder management, and programme-level risk control.
- Strong financial oversight capability, including budgeting and forecasting; experience in regulated environments is an advantage.
- Ability to manage relationships with senior leaders and delivery partners in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Relevant professional qualifications (MSP, PgMP, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent).
- Third-level qualification in business, ICT, engineering, or related discipline; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
