Software Engineer - VIE - Automotive

Your role

As an Automotive Software Toolchain & Plugin Developer, you will be embedded in a dynamic team supporting the development and evolution of software toolchains and plugins for vehicle platforms. You will work across the full software V-cycle and contribute to both toolchain development and real-world application.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Developing and maintaining software plugins and toolchain components for automotive platforms, including MATLAB/Simulink-based solutions and VS Code extensions, using languages such as Python, C/C++, TypeScript and Java
• Designing, implementing and automating CI/CD pipelines (e.g. via GitHub Actions) to support continuous integration and delivery of software tools and applications
• Contributing to all phases of the software V-cycle, from requirements and architecture through to coding, hardware deployment, verification and validation, including work on HIL systems and vehicle integration
• Collaborating in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning and other ceremonies, and supporting project scheduling and progress reporting
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders — including international teams and third-party tool providers — to identify toolchain gaps, benchmark best practices and drive continuous improvement

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated VIE engineer who combines solid technical skills with a collaborative mindset and a passion for automotive software development.

• Experience in software development using one or more of the following: Python, C/C++, TypeScript, Java, or MATLAB/Simulink, with an understanding of plugin or toolchain development
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools, such as GitHub Actions or equivalent, and experience contributing to automated testing environments including unit test development
• Knowledge of the software V-cycle or DevOps methodologies, ideally in an automotive or embedded systems context
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum team, with strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across different cultures and time zones
• A proactive and curious approach to problem-solving, with the ability to research and integrate emerging or evolving third-party tools into existing workflows
