Senior SAP Program Manager

Your Profile

We are looking for a Senior IT Program Manager with a strong SAP background to take ownership of a strategically important and complex account in the utilities sector in Belgium. This is a broad, end-to-end program management role covering delivery management, financial oversight, stakeholder governance, people management, and contract management — all within a multi-vendor, multi-country SAP environment.

You will serve as the primary point of contact and accountability for program performance, acting as a senior liaison between Capgemini, the client, and a broader subcontractor ecosystem. You will manage a dedicated Program Management team, oversee monthly invoicing volumes in the range of several hundred thousand euros, and play an active role in presales and business development activities.

This role requires someone with the gravitas to engage at executive level, the analytical sharpness to manage complex financials, and the resilience to navigate escalations with diplomacy and decisiveness.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Owning end-to-end SAP program delivery for a major strategic account in the utilities sector, ensuring achievement of deliverables, quality standards, budget targets, and key milestones — while proactively managing risks, dependencies, and performance across a complex multi-vendor delivery landscape spanning Belgium and international Capgemini delivery locations
• Leading program governance and stakeholder management at all levels — from weekly operational alignment meetings with project managers and team leads, to bi-weekly executive 1:1s and quarterly strategic steering committees — acting as the primary escalation point and trusted senior advisor for both the client and internal Capgemini leadership
• Managing cross-organisational governance structures across Capgemini, the client organisation, and a network of subcontractors — coordinating recurring and ad hoc governance forums, ensuring alignment on priorities, performance, and contractual obligations, and maintaining clear communication across all parties at all times
• Overseeing financial management in close collaboration with Controlling and Finance, including monthly financial analysis, invoice preparation and management across multiple billing codes, KPI-driven invoice tracking, e-monitoring management, and rolling forecasts — with full accountability for invoicing volumes that can exceed several hundred thousand euros per month
• Leading resource management across the full program lifecycle — from talent requisition and onboarding through to offboarding — coordinating with procurement, practice management, and resource acquisition teams across multiple countries to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time
• Managing contract and compliance activities, including subcontractor contracts, statement of work management, and engagement with procurement teams across multiple geographies, as well as collaboration with security and compliance teams on data protection, and AI governance and compliance requirements
• Contributing to presales and business development, including participation in customer meetings, preparation of testimonials, and support for other business development activities — as well as leading annual business roadmap workshops, R&D planning, and rolling staffing forecasts that shape the strategic direction of the account
• Leading, coaching, and developing the Program Management team, conducting regular 1:1 and team alignment sessions, managing performance, supporting professional development, and acting as a role model for Capgemini's values and ways of working

Your Profile

You are a highly experienced IT program manager with a strong SAP background and a proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale programs in a client-facing environment. You combine sharp analytical and financial acumen with the interpersonal skills to build trust across diverse stakeholder groups — from operational teams to C-suite executives. You are resilient under pressure, detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture, and genuinely passionate about developing the people around you.

We're looking for someone who brings:

• 10+ years of experience in IT project and program management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering and managing large, complex SAP programs in a multi-stakeholder, multi-vendor environment — ideally with exposure to the utilities, public services, or infrastructure sectors
• Strong SAP knowledge and familiarity with SAP application landscapes, including an understanding of SAP Solution Manager, SAP Change and Release Management processes, and the ability to act as an informed counterpart for both technical SAP teams and business stakeholders
• Strong financial management capabilities, including experience with monthly invoicing, budget tracking, financial reconciliation, and KPI reporting — comfortable working with significant financial volumes and translating financial data into actionable insights for both internal and client leadership
• Executive-level stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated experience engaging confidently and credibly with ICT management, senior business leaders, and C-suite executives — able to navigate complex political dynamics with diplomacy, tact, and a solutions-focused mindset
• Proven escalation management experience, with the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure, manage conflicts constructively, and drive resolution across internal teams, clients, and subcontractor ecosystems without losing stakeholder trust
• Strong people management and coaching capabilities, with experience leading and developing program management teams — creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and psychological safety
• Fluency in Dutch is essential for this role; proficiency in French and/or English is considered a strong asset given the cross-organisational and international nature of the position
• Familiarity with program management tooling — experience with resource management, time tracking, vendor management, and financial tools is a strong advantage; willingness to act as backup support across tooling during team absences is expected
