Pyrotechnical Industrial Supplier Quality | Defense

YOUR ROLE

As a Pyrotechnical Industrial Supplier Quality Engineer, you will work in cross-functional support with Industrial Quality Leaders and in close collaboration with operational departments, ensuring that suppliers meet the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout the entire supply chain in a demanding defence environment.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Ensuring the quality of suppliers from the upstream selection phase through to downstream performance evaluation, with the objectives of strengthening quality involvement in supplier selection, reducing non-quality issues, and ensuring better control and management of supplier risks
• Carrying out actions to improve supplier maturity through structured action plans, and implementing internal improvement initiatives to enhance operations with suppliers across the pyrotechnical and defence supply chain
• Supporting targeted improvement projects in collaboration with the Supplier Performance Manager (SPM), contributing to the overall performance and reliability of the supplier base
• Capturing and managing supplier issues, conducting root cause analyses, monitoring corrective actions with suppliers, and actively participating in the analysis of customer complaints resulting from supplier issues
• Communicating supplier risks internally across processes, resources, and infrastructure, and participating in the establishment and implementation of critical supplier audit and monitoring plans as part of an integrated team with the SPM, Industrial Quality Managers, and Procurement
• Travelling in Belgium and abroad as part of the function (approximately 50% of the time), conducting on-site supplier assessments, audits, and quality reviews across international locations

YOUR PROFILE

As a Pyrotechnical Industrial Supplier Quality Engineer, you are a rigorous and proactive professional with a solid pyrotechnical engineering background, capable of driving supplier quality improvements in a complex, safety-critical, and internationally oriented defence environment.

• You hold an engineering degree with a pyrotechnical orientation, and bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial supplier quality position, ideally in the defence, aerospace, or a similarly regulated and safety-critical environment
• You have solid expertise in supplier quality management, including supplier audits, root cause analysis, corrective action monitoring, and risk management across complex and highly regulated supply chains
• You are professionally proficient in both French and English (mandatory, oral and written), with excellent communication skills and the ability to draft clear and precise technical documents in both languages
• You demonstrate the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams while remaining autonomous when required, bringing a rigorous, methodical, and well-organised approach to your work
• You are comfortable operating in an international environment and are willing to travel in Belgium and abroad for approximately 50% of your working time to conduct supplier assessments, audits, and quality improvement activities
