YOUR ROLE
We are seeking a Materials Engineering Consultant to join our team in Brussels. In this role, you will support advanced research initiatives focused on the development and launch of innovative materials for future electric vehicle technologies, playing a key role in E-motor component development and collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Driving initiatives for the development and qualification of new materials for electric motor components (e.g., insulation systems, resins, composites) while supporting ongoing optimization of materials for thermal, electrical, and mechanical performance
- Conducting material characterization (thermal, dielectric, mechanical) and experimental data analysis, including lab-based testing and validation of materials and processes
- Assessing production methods and process characteristics for different E-motor parts (rotor, stator, windings, insulation) and evaluating recycling and sustainability options for materials
- Identifying technical issues early in development, proposing effective solutions, and contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions for material-related failures
- Leading technical discussions with suppliers and internal engineering teams, aligning material specifications, validation plans, and project goals across stakeholders
YOUR PROFILE
- Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Polymer/Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Between 2 and 7 years of experience in product development, materials engineering, or industrial R&D
- Hands-on experience with polymers, composites, insulation systems, resins, or varnishes
- Knowledge of material characterization and experimental data analysis
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for effective supplier engagement
- Proactive problem-solving approach and continuous improvement mindset
- Familiarity with lab procedures and ability to interpret technical reports and specifications
