Industrial Supply Quality Engineer | Defence

Job Description

As an Industrial Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be part of the Industrial Performance & HSE department. You will work transversally across two Belgian sites, collaborating closely with Industrial Quality Leaders and operational departments.

You will play a key role in:

• Ensuring supplier quality from selection phase through performance evaluation, with objectives to strengthen quality involvement in supplier selection, reduce supplier non-quality issues, ensure better supplier risk management, and improve supplier oversight
• Establishing technical specifications and quality requirements for suppliers in an integrated team with Methods, Product Design Authority, and Purchase departments
• Conducting supplier audits according to annual plans and forecasts, deploying quality requirements, and validating suppliers through Supplier Site Approval (SSA) and Supplier Process/Production Qualification (SPPQ)
• Contributing to upstream supplier selection processes by providing synthesis of supplier knowledge, identifying potential risks, and proposing risk mitigation actions
• Managing First Article Inspection (FAI) processes, including coordination between suppliers, internal teams, and control laboratories, analyzing measurement reports and documentation, and implementing action plans for non-conformities

Your Profile

• Engineering degree with mechanical orientation
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial supplier quality function
• Fluency in French and English 
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong ability to draft technical documents
• Capacity to work both in multidisciplinary teams and autonomously
• Proactive, committed, and enthusiastic approach
• Rigorous, methodical, and organized work style
• Willingness to travel within Belgium and internationally
