Job Description

Joining Capgemini...

You will be joining a team of passionate engineers dedicated to making workplaces safer, more sustainable, and more compliant. At Capgemini Engineering, we believe that safety is not just a requirement — it is a value. As an EHS Engineer, you will play a central role in implementing safety strategies that protect people, the environment, and the future of our clients' operations.

As an EHS Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing all safety aspects related to projects and production, driving a proactive safety culture across multidisciplinary teams and client environments.

In this role you will play a key role in:

  • Developing and auditing proactive safety management solutions, ensuring that all project and production activities are conducted in line with the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Anticipating HSE regulations and their consequences on facilities, keeping clients ahead of evolving European and Belgian compliance requirements and minimising operational risk.
  • Developing and delivering HSE training modules, equipping teams with the knowledge and tools needed to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Creating safe working environments that also improve return on investment, demonstrating that strong safety practices and operational efficiency go hand in hand.
  • Developing environmentally friendly alternatives and contributing to sustainability goals, while actively sharing knowledge and expertise within multidisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement.

Your profile

At Capgemini Engineering, we are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Master's degree in safety, industrial engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role; a Prevention Advisor Level 1 or 2 certification and/or a Safety Advisor certificate are considered a strong advantage.
  • Brings solid experience in process safety methodologies including HAZOP, SIL, ATEX, and PED, combined with strong knowledge of risk assessment approaches.
  • Has a thorough understanding of European and Belgian EHS regulations, including those relating to work equipment and working environments, enabling confident and compliant delivery.
  • Is customer-focused and able to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, improving the internal and external image of the organisations they work with.
  • Communicates fluently in English and Dutch, enabling effective collaboration across diverse and international project teams.

What you'll love about working here

🌱 Environmental sustainability Our teams around the world pave the way for a sustainable future — from building electric cars (Citroën AMI) and hydrogen cars (H2 Hydrogen Age) to solar airships and making offices green through our Energy Command Center. Your work in EHS will be part of this broader commitment to a better world.

🤝 Impact Together Week During this week, we volunteer for activities supporting a sustainable and inclusive future. Over 7,000 volunteers have contributed their skills and time to help those in need — reflecting the same values that drive great EHS professionals every day.
