Your Role

As a Data Engineer Modern Data Platforms, you design, build, and optimize scalable cloud-based data platforms that power analytics, reporting, AI, and business-critical decision-making. You are passionate about transforming raw data into trusted, accessible, and high-quality assets that enable organizations to become truly data-driven. Working alongside data architects, analytics specialists, and client stakeholders, you help create modern data ecosystems that support innovation and long-term business value.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration frameworks on modern cloud platforms.
• Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and storage solutions using modern engineering practices.
• Implement robust data models, governance standards, and quality controls to ensure trusted and reliable data assets.
• Collaborate with data architects, analytics consultants, and client teams to deliver end-to-end data platform solutions.
• Optimize platform performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency across cloud environments.
• Enable advanced analytics, business intelligence, machine learning, and AI initiatives through high-quality and accessible data foundations.

This profile closely aligns with the Achim Data Engineer persona, who values large-scale data transformation initiatives, continuous learning, and exposure to diverse technologies and stakeholders.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer working with modern cloud-based data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and modern data engineering architectures; strong knowledge of SQL, data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and distributed data processing concepts.
• Experience with Python, Spark, data orchestration, and cloud-native data services is considered an asset.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Dutch and/or French is required.
