Data Architecture & Governance Consultant

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Data Architecture and Governance consultant. You help organizations structure govern and trust their data by combining data architecture with data governance principles enabling explainable compliant and AI ready data foundations. You focus on technical governance topics such as data domains metadata lineage data quality and platform alignment. You translate governance requirements into concrete data platform solutions and help ensure that governance is embedded into delivery practices rather than treated as a standalone exercise. 

Your role: 

You bridge data architecture and data governance to help organizations structure and trust their data. You focus on the technical side of governance and its integration into data platforms. 

Core responsibilities 

• Support data governance initiatives from a technical perspective   
• Define data domains metadata lineage and quality principles   
• Translate governance requirements into platform solutions   
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and stakeholders   
• Contribute to governance assessments and improvement initiatives 
• Ensure data lineage quality and metadata support explainability for analytics and AI use cases

Your profile: 

Must haves 

• Experience in data architecture or data engineering roles   
• Strong understanding of data governance and metadata concepts   
• Ability to work in complex stakeholder environments 
• Professional working proficiency in English is required. Dutch and or French are a strong advantage. 

Nice to haves 

• Experience in public sector or large organizations   
• Familiarity with governance tooling or frameworks
