Your Role

Location: Liège

As a Senior Buyer, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will help shape and deliver the purchasing strategy for one of Belgium's most significant energy infrastructure projects.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Contributing to the development and implementation of the purchasing policy, while drawing up specifications in close collaboration with legal, technical, and operational specialists
• Analysing market mechanisms and trends to compare, evaluate, and select the most competitive bids and quotes from suppliers
• Leading contract negotiations with suppliers on pricing, contractual terms, and quality of service, while supporting cost optimisation initiatives with internal stakeholders
• Managing the full contract lifecycle, from implementation through to monitoring, ensuring suppliers meet agreed commitments and performance standards
• Providing expert commercial and contractual support for technical projects, as well as one-off or exceptional purchases, ensuring compliance and best value at every stage

Your Profile

• You hold a Master's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a technical discipline, and bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Purchasing role beyond simple replenishment activities
• You have a strong understanding of market mechanisms and ideally a working knowledge of the legal aspects of procurement and contract management
• You communicate with confidence and clarity, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, assertiveness, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
• You are analytically minded with excellent synthesis skills, and you are known for your strong negotiation abilities and results-driven approach
• You are proficient in French and English (written and oral) and you are comfortable working with SAP and standard office software tools
