Your role
At Capgemini Engineering, we work at the intersection of science, technology, and innovation. In this role, you'll be embedded within a leading pharmaceutical environment, working on critical packaging qualification activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API). You'll contribute directly to product quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance — work that truly matters. As an API Packaging Engineer, you will play a key role in qualifying and documenting packaging solutions for both new and existing commercial API portfolios at our client site in Geel 3x per week, Belgium. In this role you will play a key role in:
- Qualifying primary and secondary packaging for New Product Introduction (NPI) and the existing commercial API portfolio, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical standards
- Coordinating qualification activities including distribution testing, laboratory testing, and stability testing, acting as the central point of contact across teams
- Drafting and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for packaging use and qualification, including test protocols, selection criteria, and Roles & Responsibilities (R&R) documentation
- Developing complete technical documentation and specifications related to packaging, ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Providing technical support for quality and compliance incidents related to packaging, helping to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
- Delivering training sessions and user guides as part of the handover process, ensuring knowledge transfer to relevant stakeholders
Your profile
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a regulated environment and brings both technical knowledge and strong communication skills.
- You have a background in pharmaceutical, chemical, or biomedical engineering, or a related scientific discipline, with 1 to 10 years of relevant experience in packaging engineering or a similar field
- You have experience or a strong interest in packaging qualification processes, GMP environments, and regulatory documentation within the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry
- You are a collaborative and organised professional, capable of coordinating across multiple teams and managing test protocols and documentation with precision and accountability
- You communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally, and are comfortable drafting SOPs, technical specifications, and presenting findings to stakeholders
