About the job you're considering
We are looking for a Microfocus Enterprise Administrator or expert to manage and support enterprise-scale environments across cloud (Azure/GCP) and on-premise infrastructure. This role will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Microfocus Enterprise Server and Enterprise Developer environments across multiple stages, including SANDBOX, DEV, QA, Pre-Prod, and PROD.
This position is highly collaborative and involves working closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and other support functions to ensure high system availability, performance, and security. You will play a critical role in maintaining system stability, troubleshooting issues, and supporting modernization initiatives involving Microfocus technologies.
As an Enterprise Administrator, you will anticipate potential system constraints, manage configurations proactively, and ensure seamless operations across distributed environments.
Your role
. Own setup, configuration, and maintenance of Microfocus Enterprise Server (ES) and Enterprise Developer (ED) environments across multiple stages
. Create and manage ED/ES regions (SANDBOX/DEV/QA/Pre-Prod/PROD) on Windows and Linux servers
. Perform installation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of Microfocus environments
. Configure and maintain listeners, web services, and SSL setups
. Conduct routine maintenance including spool management, log file cleanup, and diagnostics (trace/core dump analysis)
. Track and follow up on Microfocus support tickets through resolution
. Administer CICS environments including setup and maintenance of CICS resources
. Manage IMS environments including resource setup, message queue maintenance, and database operations (backup/recovery/reorg)
. Troubleshoot application issues and recommend configuration improvements
. Act as a central point for system-level support and environment stability
Your skills and experience
. Strong experience in Microfocus Enterprise Server Administration across Azure/GCP and on-prem environments
. Proven ability to create and manage multi-environment ED/ES regions on Windows and Linux platforms
. Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microfocus products
. Deep understanding of CICS, IMS, and MQ administration
. Experience with IMS database management including backup, recovery, and reorganization
. Knowledge of MQ queue manager configuration, backup/recovery, and client reconnection
. Familiarity with DevOps practices, system diagnostics, and performance tuning
. Experience setting up web services, SSL, APIs, and third-party integrations
. Proficiency in troubleshooting using logs, traces, and system tools
. Experience with database connectivity and Microfocus utilities
. Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
. Knowledge of mainframe concepts and application development
. Experience with data migration using HCOSS and related tools is a plus
. Knowledge of scheduling tools in conjunction with Microfocus administration is a plus
. Familiarity with MQ client reconnection steps and backup/recovery processes is a plus
. Working knowledge of Windows Event Viewer and registry (regedit) is a plus
. Experience integrating Microfocus environments with third-party tools is a plus
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $73,150 to $174,000
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
