Job Location - Fort Mills SC (Day One Onesite - Hybrid)

About The Role

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Data Architect (AWS) to lead the technical design and execution of a multi-year cloud migration initiative for our Direct Business Mutual Fund (DB MF) platform.
  • This is a strategic role requiring a blend of deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams.
  • You will be responsible for driving the architecture and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions in the cloud, while ensuring seamless collaboration across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and design cloud-native data solutions on AWS for the DB MF platform.
  • Lead the migration of legacy systems and data pipelines to the cloud.
  • Act as a bridge between engineering, product, and business teams to ensure alignment and clarity on technical direction.
  • Own and drive the technical roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data architecture.
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Promote transparency and shared understanding through regular updates, documentation, and collaborative planning.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are met.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to development teams.
  • Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills

  • 15+ years of experience in data architecture, with a strong focus on cloud migration.
  • Proven expertise in AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and foster collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills - able to engage confidently with product and business teams.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data tools and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Python, SQL).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proactive in identifying risks, resolving conflicts, and driving clarity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Mutual Fund or Financial Services domain.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, Data Analytics) is a plus
