HANA Cloud Senior Performance Engineer

SAP HANA is an in-memory database and data management platform. SAP HANA Cloud is the database as a service (DBaaS) offering based on SAP HANA. We run on Intel x86 and aarch64 platform. There is a long-standing relationship with an Intel on-site engineering team. We are looking for talented individuals that help with Intel x86 specific optimizations.

Your role:

§  Explorative performance and root cause analysis in the context of SAP HANA database

§  Assist in finding Intel x86 specific optimization potential

• Compare performance results between platforms

§  Do PoC code changes

§  Build and extend analysis tools

• Collaborate with Intel on-site team

Your Profile:

Required skills:

• Ability to analyze and debug complex problems
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Excellent knowledge of Intel x86 architecture specifics
• Track record of using profiling tools like perf and vtune in the analysis of performance issues
• Good C++ skills
• Verbal and written working proficiency in English

Preferred skills:

• Knowledge of RDBMS
• Experience with aarch64 platform
• Python programming experience
