About the Job You Are Considering

We are seeking an experienced LIMS Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in LabWare LIMS to support, enhance, and optimize Laboratory Information Management Systems within a regulated Life Sciences environment. The ideal candidate will have experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), production support, system configuration, integrations, and close collaboration with laboratory and business stakeholders.

In this role, you will support multiple laboratory workflows, drive system enhancements, troubleshoot complex production issues, and ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient LIMS operations.

Your Role

LIMS Development & Configuration

  • Configure, customize, and enhance LabWare LIMS (v6/v7) modules to support R&D, Quality, Product Supply, and Regulatory laboratories.
  • Develop and maintain LIMS Basic scripts, visual workflows, schedulers, business rules, and event triggers.
  • Implement system enhancements, defect fixes, and performance optimizations following SDLC, validation, and change management processes.
  • Support requirements analysis, design, testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities.

System Integration & Automation

  • Integrate laboratory instruments (e.g., plate readers and other scientific instruments) with LabWare LIMS.
  • Design, develop, and support interfaces with SAP (QMIDI) and other enterprise systems through web services and APIs.
  • Automate laboratory processes, including sample login, stability study creation, results entry, approvals, and reporting.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability across laboratory and enterprise applications.

Production Support & Operations

  • Provide L2/L3 production support for LIMS applications while meeting defined SLAs.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests, problems, and change requests using ITSM tools and processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis for complex technical issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with onsite, offshore, and cross-functional teams to ensure operational stability.

Database & Reporting

  • Work with Oracle and SQL Server databases for troubleshooting, query optimization, and backend support.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reports using Crystal Reports and related reporting tools.
  • Support report generation, label printing, printer configurations, and related LIMS reporting functionalities.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Administration & Compliance

  • Serve as a LabWare LIMS System Administrator, managing users, roles, security, configurations, and overall system health.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, patch implementation, and infrastructure-related changes.
  • Ensure compliance with GxP, FDA, and Life Sciences regulatory requirements through validated processes and documentation.
  • Participate in audits, validation activities, and compliance reviews as required.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with business users, laboratory stakeholders, and IT teams to understand and address business needs.
  • Gather requirements, conduct knowledge transfer sessions, and provide technical guidance to stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior team members and support offshore delivery teams.
  • Participate in client meetings, project reviews, status reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with LabWare LIMS (v6/v7) development, configuration, and administration.
  • Proficiency in LIMS Basic, workflows, event triggers, schedulers, and system customization.
  • Experience integrating laboratory instruments and enterprise applications such as SAP QM/QMIDI.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server databases, including SQL query development and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports and laboratory reporting solutions.
  • Proven experience providing L2/L3 application support in a regulated production environment.
  • Understanding of SDLC, change management, incident management, problem management, and release processes.
  • Knowledge of GxP, validation practices, and Life Sciences regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience working in global onsite/offshore delivery models.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, CRO, or Life Sciences organizations is highly preferred.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $68,911 - $150,350 / year. 

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
