About the role you are considering

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Test Automation Architect to lead and transform enterprise-wide quality engineering and test automation initiatives. This is a strategic leadership role for a hands-on automation expert who can define automation vision, establish quality governance, and architect scalable automation solutions across complex, cloud-native, distributed, and microservices-based environments.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, API Automation, Python/Java development, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD practices, with a proven track record of driving automation modernization programs. This role requires a strong technical leader who can balance strategy and execution while mentoring global QA teams and advancing continuous testing excellence across the software development lifecycle.

Your role

  • Define, lead, and execute the enterprise test automation strategy aligned with organizational quality objectives.Architect, design, and govern scalable automation frameworks across:UI Testing, API Testing, Database Testing, Integration Testing
  • Establish automation standards, governance models, quality KPIs, and best practices across projects and teams.Drive Shift-Left quality initiatives and continuous testing practices within Agile and DevOps delivery models.
  • Integrate automated testing seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software releases.
  • Lead automation efforts for cloud-native, distributed, and microservices-based applications.
  • Perform architecture reviews and provide recommendations to improve system quality, reliability, performance, scalability, maintainability, and testability.
  • Develop robust automation solutions for REST, SOAP, and GraphQL services while ensuring end-to-end validation across integrated systems.
  • Define test strategies for contract testing, service virtualization, microservices validation, and complex enterprise integrations.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, architects, business stakeholders, and engineering leaders to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Define and track quality metrics, dashboards, release readiness criteria, and executive-level reporting.
  • Drive defect prevention initiatives through root cause analysis and continuous process improvement.
  • Mentor and coach QA Architects, Automation Engineers, and Quality Leads on framework design, coding standards, and quality engineering best practices.
  • Lead automation modernization initiatives, including AI-assisted testing, self-healing automation frameworks, and intelligent test optimization.

Your skills and experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Test Automation, Quality Engineering, and QA Leadership.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, API Automation, Python, and Java.
  • Proven experience in designing scalable UI, API, Database, and Integration Test Automation Frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, OAuth, contract testing, service virtualization, and microservices testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Cosmos DB, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases.
  • Expertise in CI/CD integration using Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application testing; OpenShift experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, Continuous Testing, Shift-Left Quality, and enterprise test governance.
  • Experience defining quality metrics, automation standards, release readiness criteria, and executive reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, mentoring, and communication skills.

Preferred: Retail/POS domain experience, performance engineering, observability tools, AI-assisted testing, self-healing automation, and intelligent test optimization.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is:  $73,150 - $174,000.

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
