Your Role

 

Capgemini is seeking an experienced Utilities Data & AI Industry Consulting Solution Architect to join our North America Insights & Data organization.

This client-facing role will serve as a trusted advisor to utility executives and business leaders, helping clients define and execute Data & AI strategies that deliver measurable value across the Utilities value chain. The successful candidate will combine deep Utilities industry knowledge with expertise in Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and solution architecture.

The Solution Architect will work with clients to identify high-value business opportunities, develop Data & AI strategies and transformation roadmaps, define solution architectures, and shape programs that improve operational performance, grid reliability, customer experience, asset management, and enterprise productivity.

The role will also support consultative sales, solution development, and executive oversight of strategic client engagements, ensuring continuity from business strategy and solution design through implementation and value realization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted Data & AI advisor to executives and business leaders across electric, gas, and multi-utility organizations.
  • Lead client workshops and consulting engagements to define Data & AI strategies, transformation roadmaps, use-case portfolios, business cases, and investment priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to apply Data, AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI to improve business performance and create measurable value across the Utilities value chain.
  • Architect Data & AI solutions across key utility domains, including Customer and Meter-to-Cash, Transmission and Distribution, Grid Operations, Asset Management, Field Operations, Power Generation, Renewables, Distributed Energy Resources, and Capital Projects.
  • Define solution architectures integrating Data & AI capabilities with utility platforms such as CIS, AMI, GIS, OMS, ADMS, DERMS, EAM, ERP, CRM, work management, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Advise clients on modern data platforms, data products, analytics, AI platforms, knowledge management, real-time data, AI governance, Responsible AI, and enterprise AI architectures.
  • Develop business and value cases connecting Data & AI investments to outcomes including reliability, resilience, customer experience, workforce productivity, asset performance, operational efficiency, and capital effectiveness.
  • Partner with Capgemini account and delivery teams to shape strategic Data & AI opportunities, proposals, RFP responses, executive presentations, and client solutions.
  • Provide executive and architectural oversight of strategic client engagements to ensure solutions remain aligned with the client's business objectives, architecture, and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborate across Capgemini consulting, architecture, data engineering, data science, AI engineering, application, and delivery teams to develop and deliver integrated client solutions.

 

 

Required Skills and Expereince

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

  • 5–10+ years of experience in Utilities, Data & AI, technology consulting, solution architecture, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of the Utilities industry and value chain, including electric and/or gas utilities.
  • Experience across utility domains such as Customer, Meter-to-Cash, Transmission, Distribution, Grid Operations, Asset Management, Field Operations, Power Generation, Renewables, and Distributed Energy Resources.
  • Knowledge of utility platforms and operational systems, including CIS, AMI, GIS, OMS, ADMS, DERMS, EAM, ERP, CRM, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Data & AI capabilities, including data engineering, analytics, machine learning, Generative AI, Agentic AI, real-time analytics, knowledge management, and modern enterprise data architectures.
  • Experience developing Data & AI strategies, roadmaps, business cases, solution architectures, or enterprise transformation programs.
  • Experience with leading cloud, data, and AI platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong consultative, executive communication, presentation, and client relationship skills, with the ability to translate complex technology concepts into business outcomes.
  • Experience supporting consultative sales, solution development, proposals, and complex Data & AI transformation opportunities.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and provide leadership from strategy and solution development through delivery.
  • Ability to travel to client locations as required.

 

             Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.            

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $180,000 to $220,000

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
