Senior Connectivity & Network Engineer

Job Description

Capgemini is looking for an experienced SONiC Developer with strong expertise in SONiC networking, Embedded Linux, C/C++, Linux kernel and network platform development.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing and integrating SONiC-based networking platforms, debugging Linux kernel and hardware-related issues, and working with networking hardware including ASICs, DSPs, FPGAs and Ethernet devices. Experience with low-level hardware interfaces and L0/L1 optical networking platforms will be highly valuable.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, integrate, and maintain SONiC-based networking solutions.
• Develop and enhance networking and platform software using C and C++.
• Design, develop, and maintain software for L0/L1 optical networking products running on Embedded Linux platforms.
• Perform board bring-up, BSP/platform integration, hardware-software integration, and validation activities.
• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux kernel drivers and platform services.
• Analyze and resolve Linux kernel issues including kernel panics, crashes, performance bottlenecks, and patch-related issues.
• Integrate and validate hardware components including ASICs, DSPs, FPGAs, Flash, and Ethernet devices.
• Work with low-level hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, PCIe, GPIO, UART, SerDes, and SGMII.
• Develop, customize, and support SONiC platform services, containers, and networking features.
• Debug and troubleshoot SONiC networking, routing, switching, and platform-related issues.
• Work with SONiC database architecture, including Configuration DB, State DB, and Redis.
• Perform platform-level debugging and root-cause analysis across hardware, kernel, driver, and application layers.
• Collaborate with hardware, validation, testing, networking, and system integration teams.
• Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, unit/integration testing, and release activities.
• Support customer issues, production deployments, defect analysis, and root-cause investigations.
• Contribute to feature enhancements, performance optimization, scalability, stability, and product reliability improvements
