YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a talented and driven Logistics Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The role partners closely with Logistics Operations, Purchasing, Cost Control, and Compliance teams to ensure transportation capacity is secured, suppliers meet automotive quality and safety standards, and logistics costs remain competitive. This is a senior individual contributor role requiring strong analytical capability, crossfunctional coordination, and deep understanding of automotive logistics operations.

 

In this role you will play a key role in:

 

  • Analyze logistics sourcing triggers such as contract expirations, volume changes, capacity gaps, service failures, and cost variances impacting automotive operations.
  • Support Logistics Operations and Cost Control teams with data-driven insights to enable sourcing decisions.
  • Prepare RFQs with detailed lane data, volumes, equipment requirements, service levels, and operating constraints.
  • Track and analyze carrier KPIs including cost performance, on-time delivery, damage rates, service reliability, and compliance metrics.
  • Prepare performance reports and dashboards for Logistics and Purchasing stakeholders.
  • Execute and support spot sourcing activities for urgent capacity needs, production surges, or logistics disruptions.
  • Analyze spot sourcing usage, cost impacts, and performance trends to identify optimization opportunities.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in automotive logistics, transportation sourcing, or supply chain analytics.
  • Experience supporting RFQs, carrier sourcing, and logistics cost analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of inbound, outbound, and plant logistics operations.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, and Compliance teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret large data sets and develop actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in cost analysis, bid comparison, and KPI tracking.
