Job Title: Loads Engineer (Wind Energy)
Experience: 3 – 6 years of experience
Location: Chennai, India
About the Position
As part of the Engineering team, we are seeking a skilled Loads Engineer to perform aeroelastic simulations, analyse turbine loads, and support design optimization and certification activities for wind turbines. The role involves evaluating structural performance under various operating conditions, ensuring compliance with IEC standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of tools and processes.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform aeroelastic load simulations and execute IEC design load cases (DLCs) to assess turbine structural performance under normal and extreme conditions.
- Analyse and identify changes in fatigue (DEL) and extreme loads (ULT) due to control software updates by comparing baseline and modified controller behaviour and perform technical load sign-off for turbine variants corresponding to the specific control software version.
- Support certification activities by preparing load documentation, summaries, and ensuring compliance with standards (e.g DNV/IEC).
- Investigate load exceedances using structured root cause analysis (RCA) methods.
- Ability to interpret statistical reports for extreme loads (ULT), understanding peak load distributions, maxima trends and exceedance levels relative to baseline conditions.
Qualifications
- B.E./B. Tech or M.E./M. Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related field)
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in wind energy, load analysis, or turbine engineering
- Additional experience in wind resource assessment or commercial support is a plus
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
