Senior Data Modeller

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Modeler to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in dimensional data modeling, SQL, and data mapping, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You will play a key role in delivering end-to-end solutions by translating business requirements into robust data models and ensuring the quality and accuracy of data-driven insights.

Your Role

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirements Analysis:
• Engage with stakeholders to thoroughly understand and document business requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses to verify data availability for identified use cases.
  
  
2. Data Gap Analysis:
• Identify and assess potential impacts on data models.
• Validate business rules within the data and coordinate with source teams to address data quality issues.
  
  
3. Data Modeling:
• Develop Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Dimensional Data Models using Erwin, adhering to industry best practices.
• Create detailed data mapping documentation for all data model attributes.
  
  
4. Team Collaboration:
• Facilitate handover sessions with ETL, Testing, and BI teams to discuss business requirements, data models, and mapping documents.
• Provide continuous feedback and clarification throughout the development and testing phases.
  
  
5. Data Validation:
• Perform sample data validations to ensure the data behaves as expected post-development.
• Update and maintain documentation to reflect any modifications to mappings or data models.
  
  
6. Report Development:
• Oversee report creation by the BI team using Power BI, ensuring alignment with business needs.
• Validate reports with stakeholders to confirm accuracy and relevance.
  
  
7. Ad Hoc Solutions:
• Address production issues and design ad hoc solutions as needed using SQL on Snowflake.
• Leverage a basic understanding of Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) for resolving data challenges.

Your Profile

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data modeling with proficiency in Erwin. Experience with Teradata Reference Data Model is a plus.
• Strong SQL skills, with experience in Snowflake.
• Basic understanding of Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) and Power BI.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Experience in the financial industry or investment domain is highly desirable.
