Job Description
Job Summary:
The Collections Team Lead is responsible for managing and overseeing the collections team to ensure timely and effective collection of outstanding debts. This role involves leading a team of collectors, setting performance goals, monitoring team progress, and optimizing collection strategies to maximize recoveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a team of collections representatives, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Set team and individual collections targets and monitor progress towards goals.
- Develop and implement effective collections strategies and processes to improve recovery rates.
- Analyze collections data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as accounting and sales, to coordinate collection efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to collections.
- Train and develop team members to enhance their collection skills and knowledge.
- Escalate complex or high-value cases to senior management as needed.
- Prepare collections reports and presentations for management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a collections or credit management role, with at least 2 years of team leadership experience.
- Fluency in English is a must.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret and leverage collections data.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the collections industry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Certification in collections or credit management.
