Software Engineer (Java/Scala)

YOUR ROLE

Join a global engineering team responsible for building and optimizing high-performance data processing platforms within a complex financial environment. You will work on large-scale calculation engines, backend services and modern data processing solutions supporting critical business operations across multiple regions.

 

Location: Budapest, Hungary (Hybrid)

This position follows a hybrid working model in Budapest, requiring employees to work onsite approximately 50% of the time. We are currently considering applicants who are based in Hungary and eligible to work in Hungary.

YOU WILL

  • Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java and Scala
  • Build and optimize large-scale data processing solutions
  • Develop REST APIs and integrate with enterprise platforms
  • Contribute to DevOps automation and continuous delivery practices
  • Improve performance, scalability and reliability of critical applications
  • Collaborate with globally distributed teams throughout the full project lifecycle 

YOU HAVE

  • Strong proficiency with Java (Spring)
  • Experience with Scala development
  • Good understanding of relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase or DB2
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop or MongoDB
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in an international environment

 

Nice to Have

  • Apache Spark experience
  • UNIX/Linux debugging experience
  • DevOps automation knowledge (Shell, Python, AutoSys, Perl)
  • Experience with Angular, React or modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Background in finance, accounting or reporting solutions
  • Knowledge of data science and business reporting concepts
