YOU WILL:
- Interpret and apply data governance policies and frameworks consistently across projects and business units.
- Review, analyze, and challenge the definitions of data elements to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business needs.
- Act as a critical voice in data governance discussions, confidently pushing back on any elements or decisions that do not meet governance standards or organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data owners, stewards, and IT to ensure data definitions and policies are clearly understood and adhered to.
- Document and communicate data governance issues and recommendations clearly, ensuring stakeholders at all levels are aligned.
- Maintain excellent verbal and written communication, translating complex governance concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- Support a process to catalog and classify data into standard terminology using data taxonomy principles.
- Serve as a liaison between Business and technology to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated, prioritized, and actioned.
- Work with senior domain owners and manage global stakeholder relationships
- Catalog data elements and lineage in firmwide Data Cataloging Tools
- Develop materials for senior level stakeholder forums and communications.
YOU HAVE:
- Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) as a Business Analyst with a focus on data governance or data management.
- Strong ability to interpret and challenge policies, with confidence to push back constructively irrespective of hierarchy or seniority.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Ability to analyse complex data definitions and business rules critically.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude for learning new systems and technologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with HR data and Collibra or Informatica is a plus.
