Non - Conformance Stress Engineer
Your role
This opportunity sits within the Capgemini Engineering Stress Engineering team, supporting the assessment and resolution of non-conformances on critical aerospace engine components. You will use structural analysis, engineering judgement, and finite element methods to evaluate manufacturing and in-service deviations, develop technically robust repair and concession solutions, and ensure continued compliance with airworthiness and customer requirements.
• Assess the structural impact of non-conformances on turbine blades, vanes, segment liners, and other engine components using analytical calculations and finite element analysis.
• Develop and approve repair and concession solutions, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, certification requirements, and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Materials Engineering to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions and technical justifications.
Your profile
This role is suited to a degree-qualified Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer with proven experience in aerospace stress analysis and structural assessment. You will bring strong expertise in gas turbine engine components, non-conformance assessment, and finite element analysis, alongside the ability to solve complex engineering challenges and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a regulated environment.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline, with proven experience in aerospace stress analysis and structural assessment.
• Strong knowledge of gas turbine engine components, manufacturing processes, finite element analysis, fatigue assessment, and non-conformance management.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver robust engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.
