Materials Engineer
Your role
We are looking for Materials Engineer who will be responsible for delivering on non-conformance activities relating to manufacturing, testing, and in-service materials support to Defence & Aerospace projects.
As part of this role, you will be responsible for supporting a multidisciplinary team that collaborates to solve complex, real-world problems associated with Defence & Aerospace Projects. Managing small to medium-size tasks performing materials assessments related to component non-conformance. This role may require security clearance.
Your profile
Required Experience
- Degree in Materials Engineering or similar discipline (minimum) and chartered or working towards chartership status.
- Experience in relevant materials related employment, preferably in the Aerospace or other safety critical sectors.
- Familiarity with a range of materials used in Aerospace & Defence (metals & alloys, ceramics, polymers etc.) and their methods of manufacturing (casting, forging, machining, coating, curing, welding etc.).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to build good working relationships across the business.
Desirables
- Expertise in any of the following: ferrous, titanium, nickel, or light alloys, ceramics, coating, welding, or non-destructive testing technologies, hot working, cold working, or additive layer manufacturing.
- Direct materials experience within a laboratory, test house, or similar.
- Experience in critical safety sectors in addition to Aerospace & Defence.
- Knowledge of gas turbines and its components.
