About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA / PL/SQL Developer) with strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration, PL/SQL development, performance tuning, and production support within enterprise environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Oracle databases while supporting business-critical applications. You will collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and support teams to maintain stable, scalable, and high-performing database environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, patch, upgrade, and support Oracle Database environments.
  • Monitor database health, performance, availability, storage utilization, and capacity planning across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
  • Perform database performance tuning using AWR Reports, ASH Reports, SQL Trace, Explain Plans, and Oracle performance tools.
  • Troubleshoot database issues related to locking, blocking, deadlocks, memory utilization, and query performance.
  • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, database cloning, refreshes, and migration activities.
  • Administer database security, including users, roles, privileges, and access controls.
  • Implement indexing, partitioning, SQL tuning, and execution plan optimization strategies.
  • Support production incidents, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and drive corrective actions.
  • Automate routine DBA activities using PL/SQL and Shell Scripting.
  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures.
  • Participate in on-call support and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve database-related issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Database 12c, 19c, or newer versions.
  • Advanced PL/SQL development and optimization skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning.
  • Experience with RMAN backup and recovery processes.
  • Experience performing database monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, cloning, and refresh activities.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Architecture, Database Internals, Memory Structures, Query Optimization, Indexing Strategies, and Partitioning.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard administration.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, or AWS.
  • DevOps and database deployment automation experience.
  • Python scripting for automation and reporting.
  • Experience supporting Manufacturing, MES, LIMS, ERP, or other enterprise applications.
  • Oracle certifications such as OCP, OCA, OCI Foundations, or ITIL Foundation.
