Job Description

Design, develop, and optimize Looker semantic models to enable trusted self-service analytics and AI-powered insights using Gemini. Partner with business and data teams to migrate and enhance reporting capabilities from Power BI to Looker.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and map existing Power BI datasets, measures, and queries into Looker semantic models.
  • Develop and maintain LookML models, including views, explores, dimensions, and measures.
  • Optimize LookML performance, usability, and scalability.
  • Align semantic models with enterprise Knowledge Catalogs and governed Data Products.
  • Enable Gemini-powered analytics experiences through well-structured and trusted semantic layers.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Business teams to ensure consistency and accuracy across reporting assets.

 

Technical Requirements

  • Strong experience with Looker and LookML development.
  • Experience migrating or translating Power BI semantic models and business logic.
  • Proficiency in SQL and dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with Gemini, conversational BI, and AI-assisted analytics capabilities.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and semantic layer design.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD practices for analytics development.
