HR Benefits Operational Lead

You will be responsible for the development, administration, and management of all employee benefits programs in the UK. This role ensures that benefits offerings are competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with local regulations, while also meeting the diverse needs of employees. The Benefits operational leas will work closely with HR, finance, and external vendors to develop and deliver a benefits strategy that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent. The role requires a strategic approach to managing benefits programs, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment with the overall business and HR strategy
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role
Benefits Strategy and Program Design
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of UK employee benefits programs, including life insurance, health and wellness, and other voluntary benefits.
Benefits Administration and Vendor Management
Oversee the day-to-day management and administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring seamless execution of services such as enrolments, renewals, and queries.
Compliance and Governance
Ensure all benefits programs comply with UK employment law, taxation regulations, and benefits-related legislation (Employment Rights Act, GDPR).
Employee Engagement and Communication
Develop and implement a comprehensive benefits communication strategy to ensure employees understand and fully utilise the benefits available to them.
Financial Management and Reporting
Work closely with the finance team to manage the benefits budget, tracking costs and ensuring all benefits are delivered within financial parameters.
Well-being and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
Lead the development and implementation of employee well-being initiatives (with approved vendor), such as mental health support, fitness programs, and financial well-being services.
Benefits Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Stay abreast of trends and innovations in employee benefits, including technological advancements, new benefits offerings, and changes in employee expectations.

Your skills and experience
- Benefits Expertise - In-depth knowledge of UK employee benefits programs, including healthcare, life insurance, and other voluntary benefits.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management - Proven experience in managing third-party vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service quality through strong relationship management.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make recommendations based on cost, usage, and employee feedback.
- Project Management and Organisation - Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple benefits initiatives simultaneously and deliver on time and within budget.
- Compliance and Legal Knowledge - Thorough understanding of UK benefits and employment law, including taxation, and data protection regulations.
- Recognised qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in benefits management, with a focus on UK benefits.
- Experience managing benefits programs in a large or complex organisation is highly desirable.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent professional certification in benefits management is preferred.
- Experience with benefits technology platforms and tools for benefits administration and communication.
- Familiarity with budget management, and cost analysis for benefits programs.
