About the Job You're Considering
Capgemini is seeking a highly skilled Wi-Fi Infrastructure Test Engineer to join our team and support the validation, testing, and optimization of enterprise wireless networking solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Wi-Fi infrastructure testing, wireless network troubleshooting, and rack build-outs of Wi-Fi networking equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise in Wi-Fi protocols, network performance analysis, and test automation using Python.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining wireless test environments, executing functional and performance testing, identifying issues, and partnering with engineering teams to ensure the delivery of stable, high-performing Wi-Fi solutions.
Location
This is an onsite opportunity located in the Greater Philadelphia, PA metropolitan area.
Your Role
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure solutions.
- Build, configure, and maintain wireless networking test environments, including rack installation and integration of access points, controllers, switches, routers, and other networking equipment.
- Perform functional, interoperability, scalability, performance, and reliability testing of Wi-Fi infrastructure.
- Validate wireless networking features across supported Wi-Fi standards, including 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax.
- Analyze network traffic and packet captures using tools such as Wireshark to identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues.
- Troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity, roaming, authentication, throughput, latency, and performance-related issues.
- Develop and enhance test automation tools and scripts using Python to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Conduct real-time traffic analysis, network monitoring, and performance optimization testing.
- Validate wireless security protocols and authentication mechanisms, including WPA2, WPA3, EAP, and related security standards.
- Collaborate closely with software, firmware, hardware, and systems engineering teams to investigate defects and perform root cause analysis.
- Document test results, defects, troubleshooting findings, and performance metrics.Support continuous improvement initiatives for test methodologies, automation frameworks, and lab infrastructure.
Your Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Wi-Fi Infrastructure Testing, including rack build-out and deployment of networking equipment.
- Strong understanding of Wi-Fi protocols and wireless networking principles, including 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax
- Strong Python programming skills with experience developing network-focused applications, automation tools, or test frameworks.
- Experience performing Wi-Fi testing, wireless infrastructure validation, and performance analysis.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting Wi-Fi networking issues and identifying root causes.
- Strong working knowledge of network analysis tools such as Wireshark for packet inspection, protocol analysis, and debugging.
- Knowledge of wireless authentication and security protocols, including: WPA2, WPA3, EAP, and 802.1X Authentication
- Experience conducting real-time traffic analysis and network performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and environments used for network tool deployment and testing.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E technologies.
- Knowledge of wireless controllers, enterprise access points, and cloud-managed networking solutions.
- Experience with automated test environments and CI/CD testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with tools such as iPerf, IxChariot, Spirent, or similar network performance testing platforms.
- Industry certifications such as CWNA, CWNP, CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent wireless/networking certifications.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $87,677 - $116,902.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
