About the job you’re considering

We are looking for a motivated SDET with 1–2 years of experience to support automation testing across web, API, and retail applications. You will work within existing automation frameworks, contribute to test development, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
This role provides an opportunity to build hands-on expertise in automation, CI/CD, and modern QA practices while gaining exposure to end-to-end retail workflows (POS, eCommerce platforms).

Your role

  • Develop, execute, and maintain automation test scripts for web and API applications
  • Work within existing automation frameworks to enhance test coverage and stability
  • Update, debug, and troubleshoot test scripts to ensure consistent execution across environments
  • Execute automation suites as part of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams for resolution
  • Support validation of end-to-end retail workflows, including POS and eCommerce applications
  • Participate in Agile sprint activities including test planning, execution, and reporting
  • Assist in maintaining test artifacts and improving automation practices
  • Explore and leverage Gen AI tools (where applicable) to improve testing efficiency and debugging

Your skills and experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in QA/Test Automation or SDET roles (including internships/projects)
  • Basic hands-on experience with automation tools such as:
    • Playwright (preferred), Selenium, or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language:
    • Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python
  • Understanding of automation concepts, script execution, debugging, and maintenance
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with API testing concepts (REST/JSON)
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Basic experience with Git-based version control
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Preferred Skills
    • Exposure to Retail domain concepts (POS systems or eCommerce platforms)
    • Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, Rest Assured)
    • Basic understanding of BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)
    • Knowledge of Retail ERP systems (Manhattan OMS/WMS) – good to have
    • Interest or exposure to Gen AI applications in QA/testing

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $43,984 - $105,600.

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
