Your Role
As a Validation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for validating complex embedded systems and virtualization stacks across diverse environments. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high reliability, performance, and compliance of software components in virtualized and embedded platforms.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate embedded software across RTOS, RT Linux, Linux, and Unix environments.
- Perform testing and validation of virtualization technologies including Virtio, Xen, KVM, and QNX hypervisors.Validate a wide range of drivers including Graphics (DRM/KMS, OpenGL, Vulkan, OpenCL, Mesa), Multimedia (Vaapi, vdpau, gstreamer, v4l2), Power Management (System to RAM, S0ix3), Display (X, Wayland, Weston), Audio (ALSA SoC, I2S/TDM), and Ethernet.
- Apply strong embedded systems validation expertise to ensure robust system performance.
- Debug serial logs and system outputs to identify root causes and resolve issues efficiently.
- Interpret product requirements and translate them into effective test scripts using C and Python.Contribute to software reliability evaluation, performance assessment, and system-level improvements.
- Utilize tools like JIRA, JAMA, and PLM for test management and defect tracking.Work closely with local and onsite teams, including lab visits for hands-on validation and collaboration.
- Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills to support reliability testing and software quality metrics.
Your Profile
- Engineer with 4–12+ years of progressive experience in software testing for embedded systems and virtualization stacks.
- Hands-on experience in testing across RTOS, RT Linux, Linux, and Unix environments.
- Proficient in validating hypervisors and virtualization technologies such as Virtio, Xen, KVM, and QNX.
- Strong background in embedded systems validation and driver testing across graphics, multimedia, power, display, audio, and networking domains.
- Skilled in serial log debugging and root cause analysis.
- Experienced in writing and executing test scripts using C and Python.
- Proven track record in software reliability evaluation and system performance improvement.
- Familiar with tools like JIRA, JAMA, and PLM for test case management and defect tracking.
- Excellent analytical thinking, technical aptitude, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in lab environments and collaborating with local and onsite teams.
