Job Description - Grade Specific

Solution Architect – Rail Industry

Location: Pan India

Job Description

The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive solutions for our diverse portfolio of global rail clients. The role requires extensive experience in railway domain, addressing client requirements for their rail products across various geographies and rail technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working as a Solution Architect for the rail industry with pre-sales and technical solutioning experience.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales:

Front-facing with global clients and driving winning strategy and solutions

Lead technical response/solution for rail requirements/RFP response

Work with internal stakeholders including sales, bid, Industry and practice teams for timely and appropriate RFP response

Lead discussions with clients to clarify the requirements/RFP and walkthrough the solution/proposal response to clients

Requirements Analysis:

Gather and analyse client needs across multiple geographies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and local regulations.

Translate client business requirements into technical specifications and system/solution design

Solution Design:

Design end-to-end railway system architectures, including Rail integral systems like Braking, Signalling, Control & Command systems, Supervision & Monitoring Systems, Rolling stocks, and operational integration like OCC(Operations Control Center), PIS(Passenger Information System), asset management etc

System Integration:

Oversee the integration of subsystems such as signalling (CBTC, ETCS), telecommunications, SCADA, TCMS, Braking and rolling stock interfaces.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with clients, vendors, sales, engineering leadership, project managers and teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution.

Compliance and Standards:

Have good understanding rail standards such as CENELEC (EN 50126/50128/50129), IEC 62443, and local safety regulations from implementation point of view.

 

Primary Skills

Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions for railway systems.

Strong knowledge of railway technologies, including signalling, communication, and control systems.

Strong knowledge of signalling systems, SCADA, telecommunications, communication protocols and safety-critical systems.

Proficiency in requirement and system modelling, simulation tools and frameworks (e.g., Matlab, Simulink, NI software and hardware tool, SysML, UML, State Machine diagrams, Sequence diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs), and Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) etc.).

Solution designing experience for desktop and cloud based multi-tenant web, mobile applications, and embedded software and hardware development, system integration in railway environment.

Good understanding on CI/CI implementation, DevOps, DevSecOps, MLOps, Embedded Cybersecurity and related tools & standards, Microservices based architecture

Good understanding and experience on legacy technologies, latest trends and technologies like Cloud computing, GenAI, ML, Data and analytics, machine vision, IOT, Industry 4.0, Cybersecurity and asset
