Smart Metering & AMI Consultant

Your Role

  • Support Smart Metering and AMI transformation opportunities, proposals, and client engagements.
  • Provide expertise across the AMI value chain including smart meters, communication networks, head-end systems (HEM), meter data management (MDM), and field operations.
  • Support solution development for utility clients undertaking metering modernization, grid modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with account teams, delivery teams, and technology partners to develop client-specific solutions and business cases.
  • Develop and maintain reusable assets, accelerators, case studies, and industry collateral related to Smart Metering and AMI.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, market insights, and industry viewpoints on smart grids, meter-to-cash transformation, and data-driven utility operations.
  • Support workshops, assessments, and roadmap development for utility clients.
  • Track industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies impacting Smart Metering programs.

Your Profile

  • 12-17 years of experience in Smart Metering, AMI, Meter Data Management, Utility Operations, or Utility Consulting.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • AMI ecosystems
    • Smart Meter deployments
    • Meter-to-Cash processes
    • Meter Data Management (MDM)
    • Head-End Systems (HES)
    • Outage Management integration
    • Grid modernization initiatives
  • Experience supporting utility transformation, deployment, or consulting programs.
  • Familiarity with leading AMI and MDM vendors such as Itron, Landis+Gyr, Siemens, Honeywell, Sensus, Oracle Utilities, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of utility business processes across distribution, customer operations, asset management, and grid operations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
