Senior Database Administrator (DBA) - Cloud & Big Data | 6 to 9 years | Bengaluru

Job Description

Looking for a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in both relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database performance tuning, data management, cloud computing, and high availability systems. You will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing a diverse set of database technologies across enterprise and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain RDBMS platforms including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle (PL/SQL), and SQL Server.
• Manage and optimize NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Couchbase, Redis, Memcached, Amazon DynamoDB, and wide-column stores.
• Design and implement data storage, indexing, and caching strategies for high-performance applications.
• Perform query performance tuning, data query optimization, and database performance engineering.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity across all database systems.
• Collaborate with software development, IT operations, and network engineering teams to support the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Monitor and manage cloud-based database services and infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain data collection, data processing, and data analysis pipelines.
• Document database architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6–9 years of hands-on experience in database administration and performance tuning.
• Strong expertise in:
  • RDBMS: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server
  • NoSQL: MongoDB, Couchbase, Redis, Memcached, Amazon DynamoDB
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Data modeling, query optimization, and indexing
• Proficiency in SQL, data query tuning, and performance improvement techniques.
• Experience with system administration on Linux/UNIX platforms.
• Familiarity with columnar databases, document-oriented databases, and key-value stores.
• Understanding of software development methodologies and digital engineering practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in Oracle DBA, MongoDB, AWS Database Services, or similar.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Knowledge of information engineering, data governance, and compliance standards.
