Job Description

Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our relational and big data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, data storage, and IT infrastructure, with hands-on experience in MySQL, MS SQL Server, Linux/UNIX systems, and big data technologies like Apache Hadoop and Apache Parquet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize relational databases (MySQL, MS SQL Server).
• Design and implement data storage solutions using Hadoop formats and Apache Parquet.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of database systems.
• Collaborate with IT operations, network engineering, and system administration teams.
• Manage Linux/UNIX-based servers and ensure secure and efficient database access.
• Support data processing, data analysis, and data management initiatives.
• Maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in digital engineering and infrastructure administration projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6–9 years of experience in database administration and IT infrastructure.
• Proficiency in:
  • MySQL, MS SQL Server
  • Linux/UNIX environments
  • Apache Hadoop, Apache Parquet, and Hadoop file formats
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data storage, and data processing.
• Experience with system and server administration.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for basic front-end integration.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Linux Administration.
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of big data ecosystems and data lake architectures.
