YOUR ROLE

The Financial Statement Analyst is a key member of the General Mills accounting ONE TEAM, accountable to the Assistant Controller and responsible for insightful financial statement analysis commentary, the accuracy and completeness of financial accounting data and maintaining compliance with accounting principles and General Mills policies. Additionally, the Financial Statement Analyst must perform detailed financial review and analysis, and work in partnership with the Assistant Controller to uphold financial integrity and drive continuous process improvements.

In this role you will play a key role in:

  • Perform comprehensive analysis of Balance Sheet and P&L account variances, ensuring accuracy, clear explanation of drivers, and proactive mitigation of errors to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Ensure that the period close activities are executed seamlessly, contributing to the completeness, accuracy, andvalidity of financial statements.
  • Assisting/Liaising with Auditors to resolve queries/request.
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, and other ad-hoc reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing accounting processes, efficiency, and control.
  • Partner and collaborate with the Assistant Controller and General Mills Accounting teams to gain business insights and ensure the quality of financial deliverables

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Demonstrated strong understanding and application of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the Accounting Team both written and oral
  • Problem Solving, Critical and Analytical thinking, Thought Leadership & Influencing leadership.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement components and the ability to deep dive to the grass-roots level to understand underlying transactions within their areas of responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Hyperion (HFM), Blackline and OneStream is an added advantage.
