Record to Report Process Lead

YOUR ROLE:

The Senior Accountant is a key contributor of the General Mills accounting ONE TEAM and responsible for the independent preparation and processing of complex financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role involves a deep understanding of accounting standards, General Mills policies, and business operations. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the month-end close process, preparing and processing medium and high-risk accounting entries, working closely with the Accounting Manager and accountants as a team, actively developing their accounting skills and business acumen to support accurate and compliant financial operations.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Commitment, ownership of work product, a collaborative approach, and curiosity to understand accounting transactions and their relation to General Mills business and industry.
• Apply strong technical accounting acumen and analytical skills to interpret financial data, investigate variances, and ensure the integrity of financial information through understand of the “WHY”.
• Identify errors upfront and execute effective preventive controls that provide confidence in work product and overall financial results.
• Understanding of the upstream consequences to the business that under / poor performance could lead to issues with Auditors and Regulators.
